Today’s Topic: Dawg Days of Fall
Mood Music: The Man in Black by Johnny Cash
Not really in the mood to write much, but since I’ve stained all of your ears over the last few years with my ridiculous devotion to Georgia football…..I feel like it’s my duty as a fan to say that I’m embarassed at how far the Bulldog football program has fallen. Of course I still pull for them, and I’ll be at the rest of the home games this season, and I’ll buy season tix next year and every year after…..but I can’t believe how fucking bad that football team actually is.
I don’t know if it’s the coaches, the players, the ridiculous notion that changing the color of your uniform might actually help, or the fact that the referees somehow feel that it’s their God given duty to hose the Dawgs every chance they get all because of a damn endzone celebration 2 years ago. Can we all at least agree that UGA has “paid the piper” for that little 30 second display? I can honestly say that I’ve never seen a team get crucified for 1 gametime decision so freaking badly in any sport….ever.
Oh well, I guess there are certain things that I’ve got to just learn to accept……….I just didn’t think that one of them would be a Georgia football team that might not even make a bowl game this season.

Not to pour salt in your wounds, but Brandon Spikes got supspended for only half of a game for this little bit of sportsmanship:

when was the last time you saw the tigers win a bowl game! Maybe you forgot, we all pull for loosing teams. It’s just going to hurt all season.
Btw good call on the panthers win this past weekend! Let’s keep it up

I’m not sure I can even muster enough words to provide a decent comment, because I’m so disgusted with this program.
I remember when my walk of shame used to involve walking out of a chick’s house – now it involves walking out of a Georgia game….

Bish, not sure, but they’ve got a shot to play in the ACC Championship game which is the only really attainable goal in College Football that doesn’t require an act of God to possibly achieve. That’s a lot more than UGA is playing for this season.
Of course, odds are, with Tommy Bowden gone, the Tigers will probably lose this weekend to FSU, thus ruining the above possibility.
But that’s why they play the games…..you just never know.
